Memories of the Big Band era music that played in our home during my childhood inspired this painting. Like many couples, my parents married during WWII. In the painting my parents are in the midst of a long kiss. The nightclub is packed with couples having that last good time to remember before what might be a final goodbye.  According to one source: 'Glenn Miller wrote 'In the Mood' during the war to entertain the soldiers a little bit, to make them think of something different'.  The gal in the red dress?   Well, for every era, there is always a gal in a red dress!
